Pic Negre Loop

"We've been giving support for a long time at bikepacking and ultracycling events, and I was hungry to try out with my closest buddies" says Peter, who was the master of ceremony of the 3 day adventure over the Catalan/Andorra Pyrenees.
With the only premise of enjoy the ride, discovering new paths to reach places that no one of us have been before, the four riders departed from Berga to Andorra in the first stage.

The journey took us by some beautiful tracks and perfect trails for gravel and mountain bike, but with a huge climb, over 3.000 meters. Worth the effort when we arrived to Andorra, we could have a spa session in the cold waters of Valira river.

The next day was going to be the hardest day, early in the morning we left for 'El Pic Negre'. As Nils says "A bikepacking route without 'hike-a-bike' is not bikepacking" and of course, it was this way. The first twelve kilometers took 5 hours because of the 1.700 meters climb to reach the spot where the famous old and rusty Volkswagen T-1 has its everlasting rest and close to 'El Pic Negre' (Andorra), the summit of the stage.

After a critical moment where one of the riders had to surrender because of the hard effort, the rest of the group went down to Bellver de Cerdanya where we spent the night and had some good rest.

The third and last day, we went down south to the beautiful offroad climb of 'Coll del Pendís' where a good meal was waiting for us at the Sant Jordi refuge. Once we recovered all the strength we continued to Berga for a great finish having a dip in 'Pantà de la Baells'.
